What is that pain in big toe?

Yesterday, my right big toe started hurting. At first it was terrible, but worsened the bedtime. At night it hurt so bad I could not sleep. I took four aspirin, but does not disappear immediately. This morning is better but still hurts a little. It's like the pain is coming from inside the joint. I do not Stubb or hurt her, so there is no pain of any external impact. What could be? Does anyone has something similar?
